Global Fire Equipment GFE-AD-ISO Standalone Loop Isolator
Loop-powered addressable negative-switching isolator designed to protect addressable detection loops by isolating short-circuits on the loop of all GFE addressable fire alarm control panels.
Main Features:
- Loop operating voltage: 17 V to 40 V DC
- Quiescent loop current: 0.25 mA @ 28 V nominal
- Loop current when isolated LED is on: ~6.2 mA @ 28 V nominal
- Maximum series impedance: 28 m?
- Maximum leakage current: 2.7 mA
- Maximum rated switching current: 1 A
- Cable size: up to 2.5 mm² conductor
- Operating temperature: ?10 °C to +50 °C; up to 95% RH non-condensing
- Housing: ABS plastic (white or red); IP rating: IP50
- Dimensions: approximately Ø 100 mm × 48 mm (H); Weight: ~105 g (module) / ~142 g including packaging
- Compliant with EN54-17 for short-circuit isolators
- Allows up to 32 detection devices to be connected between two isolators, maintaining loop integrity in case of short-circuit
Notes:
- The module is polarity sensitive — ensure correct wiring orientation for loop “IN” and “OUT”.
- When a short-circuit occurs between two isolators, the two yellow LEDs (one on each isolator) identify the section containing the fault; the loop is still maintained for unaffected sections.
- After the short-circuit fault is removed, the isolator automatically reconnects the loop section once resistance exceeds the threshold; the control panel may require reset.
- Installation must consider loop load, correct termination and compliance with EN54-13 for system-wide certification.
